I'm P.C., and I have studied food and cooking around the world, mostly by eating, but also through serious study. Coursework at Le Cordon Bleu London and intensive courses in Morocco, Thailand and France have broadened my culinary skill and palate. But my kitchen of choice is at home, cooking like most people, experimenting with unique but practical ideas.

I live, mostly in my kitchen, in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

Sweet Tea Jelly

Sweet Tea Jelly

Canning is my summer time obsession.  From the first strawberries of spring to the last pears of fall, I spend my weekends putting up my famers market bounty.  Then the market closes for the season, I put the canner back in the pantry and shelf the jars for the next year.  But at some [...]

Sweet Tea Pecans

I don’t know that I have ever attended a holiday party where there wasn’t a pretty little bowl full of seasoned nuts. Sweet Tea Sorbet

I try to mix things up, different types of recipes each week. But this week, I am continuing with a theme. I recently posted my recipe for Watermelon Sweet Tea, praising the benefits of good sweet tea in the hot Southern summer. And then I raved about my little ice cream maker for making Lemon Meringue [...]

Watermelon Sweet Tea

Ah, summer in the South. It is hot as a skillet here, with temperatures topping the 102 degree mark. So there really is no option but to make as much iced tea as possible. For the only real solution to a southern summer (okay, besides air conditioning) is endless [...]

Sweet Tea Myths and Legends
